L models have a wheelbase that is six inches longer than the other vehicles.

Interior Features
Gracing the spacious and well-appointed interior is a driver and passenger eight-way power adjustable seat with power lumbar. The driver's seat, outside mirrors, and pedals have a memory feature for up to three drivers.

Handy items such as coat hooks, roof assist handles, front seatback map pockets, and center console line the cabin. The upholstery is genuine leather for a classy finish. Among the other standard comforts and conveniences are automatic climate control, an AM/FM stereo with CD player, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry system, and cruise control.

A satellite-based Vehicle Communications System is optional on all Town cars except for the limousine.

Exterior Features
Along with a new color that has been added this year - Aspen Green Clearcoat Metallic - the Lincoln Town Car features vertical taillights, chrome license plate surround, and a distinctive Lincoln waterfall grille. Additional chrome accents such as window frames, side marker lights, door handles, wheels, and wraparound lights lend sporty retro flair.

The vehicle's low, aerodynamic profile is both appealing visually and in a practical sense, producing less noise and wind drag while increasing the fuel economy value.

Performance
Under the hood of the rear-wheel drive Lincoln Town Car hums a quiet 4.6-litre, 16-valve V8 engine that cruises easily with 220 horsepower and 265 lbs-ft of torque. A peaceful and smooth ride is ensured via the Watt's linkage rear suspension and finely tuned front suspension. Engine speed-sensing steering adds to the precision handling.

Safety and Security
Each Lincoln Town Car is equipped with standard equipment that includes three-point seatbelts, head restraints, passenger depowered air bag, driver depowered air bag, and side impact air bags. Other safety features list anti-lock brakes, all-speed traction control, front and rear crumple zones, and side impact door beams.

Rounding out the package are an engine immobilizer, anti-lockout feature, child seat tethers and anchors, and child safety locks in the rear seating area.
