The 2003 Mini Cooper S is the sport version of a long sought
rebirth of an old favourite. However, the new Mini bears
little resemblance to its origins when you look in below
the surface. The old Mini had 34 hp while the Cooper S has
a whopping 163, making it a bit of a rocket.
Awesome styling is a key ingredient however, for this new
breed of Mini and details like available flags for the roof
and sophisticated exterior design ability mean the consumer

The 2003 Mini Cooper S has one basic trim level that offers

Interior Features

Performance
The 2003 Mini Cooper S has a supercharged 1.6-liter dohc
4-cyl with a smoking 163 hp at 6000 rpm and 155 lb-ft of
torque at 4000. This is teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission.
With its low center of gravity, rigid sport suspension and
16.5-inch run-flat racing tires, the Mini S has razor-sharp
racer handling with minimal lean.
Also available on the Mini Cooper S, all-season traction
control and drive-by-wire electronic throttle control can
be selected as stand alone item or they can be enhanced
further by a sport package that includes many performance
and handling technologies at once.
Safety and Security
A Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system leads the safety
portfolio but extensive airbag technology is also in place
and is comprised of dual front airbags, front side airbags
and side head-protection airbags. Antilock 4-wheel disc
brakes, a tire-pressure monitor and daytime running lights
are all standard.
